Privacy Preserving Biometric Encryption

Your Face is your key. We don't store it.

The Problem

Traditional Biometric Systems have limitations

In traditional AI technology, biometric templates are compared by measuring their similarity. However, since these templates are generated with slight variations each time verification is performed, they cannot function as cryptographic keys.

Additionally, if an attacker gains access to the similarity score, they can reconstruct the original face that was used to create the template, using attacks such as a Hill Climbing Attack.

Moreover, since only one template can be derived from a single image, it is possible to determine if two templates stored in completely separate databases belong to the same individual or not.

How it works

SenseCrypt uses a user's face (and optional metadata / password) to create an encrypted, and privacy preserving binary representation called a SensePrint.

Additionally, a public key may also be requested at the time of SensePrint creation.

Specified metadata is embedded inside a SensePrint. External documents can be encrypted using the Public Key.

Given a SensePrint and a subsequent scan of the user's face, SenseCrypt can verify that the user is who they claim to be.

Additionally, SenseCrypt can decrypt any documents that were encrypted using the public key that was generated at the time of SensePrint creation.

Finally, SenseCrypt will also unlock any metadata that was embedded inside the SensePrint (if the verification was successful).

SenseCrypt Use Cases

Privacy Preserving. No password. No hassles.

SenseCrypt Login provides an OAuth 2.0 based authentication method that enables websites to offer their customers a face-based login experience, utilizing the SenseCrypt Authenticator SDK or app.

With this feature, users can choose to log in with their face, and are presented with a QR code generated by the SenseCrypt login technology. After scanning the QR code and their face using the SenseCrypt Authenticator app, the users are automatically logged in, without the need for any passwords.

This process is completely secure and the users' face image is never stored, as their face is their "Private Key". Our system is designed to be easy to integrate, as it adheres to the widely recognized and accepted OAuth 2.0 standard.

Secure. Easy to deploy.

SenseCrypt offers powerful features that enable users to encrypt and secure information, such as metadata, using their face, through the creation of a SensePrint. The encrypted metadata is only accessible through the user's face, and can include important data such as wallet keys, employee ID, account details, identity information, etc.

SenseCrypt uses the owner's face to generate their unique “Private Key”, which is then used to decrypt the SensePrint and reveal the information. Furthermore, an optional input of a password adds an additional factor of authentication and security to the SenseCrypt solution.

A unique feature of SensePrints is that it can be small enough to be printed as a QR code, providing organizations with a useful tool for access control. For instance, employee badges can be printed with the SensePrint QR code, which employees can then easily scan, along with their face, to gain access to secure areas, without the need for a centralized database. This enhances the security of the system, as there is no attack surface, and the SensePrint can be backed up to durable storage or even printed on paper.

Documents only you can read.

SenseCrypt provides a unique solution for securing documents. With this technology, documents are encrypted and decrypted using the user's face - providing an unparalleled level of security.

This technology is particularly useful in preventing accidental leaks of sensitive documents, as only authorized users can unlock them. With no need for passwords, users can feel confident that their documents are well-protected.

Moreover, SenseCrypt ensures ultimate peace of mind for users by not storing their facial image. This eliminates the risk of any data breach, even if the entire database were leaked.

Your Face. Your Signature.

SenseCrypt offers users the ability to sign documents using their face. This provides a secure and convenient way to verify signatures. When a user signs a document with their face, the signature can be verified using their public key.

This feature provides assurance that the document was signed by the right person, without the need for passwords.

By using Face-based signing, verifiers can be confident that the document is signed by the correct user, and not just someone who has access to the signee's email. This helps prevent accidental or fraudulent signatures, providing additional security for important documents.
